Obscurity of a Meaty-ocher Charlatan

Life is an expression of the face. The entire body and implied movement are not necessary for understanding feelings and emotions. The face contains all the elements of emotion and movement.  Artists are classically trained to render a whole figure or with portraiture, a face with little expression. I’m using the face for an articulation of subtle emotions and slight movement. When a dog looks at you with intention in eyes and teeth, the body is ignored and little else is looked at except the face and the expression.

The painting and the rendering can’t be mentioned without the size of the canvas as the first thing to be noticed. The canvases are 9x7 and4x4 feet and tacked to the wall without stretcher bars.  The paintings are executed in a similar manner to drawing. The works are also large in stature, but contain simple subject matter. The palette is a byzantine tetradic contrast color scheme that pushes the distinction of warm and cool.
